Pilot Study

Monitoring the Burmese Social Media Landscape

As part of an ongoing project aiming to promote tolerance and social cohesion in Myanmar, Digital Public Square has conducted a pilot study on the online information landscape in the country. Through a mixed-methods approach, these reports track and analyze prevalent pro-regime narratives on social media (including Telegram) and provide a high-level overview of important topics and events in the online space, during the observed periods.

Nationwide Surveys

2020 - 2023

DPS has collected four waves of survey data from 2020-2023 that focuses on trends related to religious and ethnic intolerance and explores correlations to democratic values. The timing of these surveys also allows us to understand the impact of major political events in the country on a number of dimensions.
